yeah, february is my #2 behind may- based on 73, 74, and 77 alone. in each of those years the band sounds totally different (to my ears) in the february shows than they had the previous year. they had obviously been working on new things during the january down time and you can hear the differences both in individual playing and overall band sound. and i think feb. '73 is a particularly strong and kind of under-appreciated month. the band sounds so positive and lively and energized during the whole month and it just sounds like they are having fun.
